Beautiful shot -- clouds, trees, grass - wow. and Uschi up the tree. do you have to mow the dry grass? and is that a nest in the tops of the other trees to the left?
I maintain trails around the property, rather than mow all of it regularly,... Every year I mow a different part of the tall grass areas such that everything gets mowed every few years. This has created/maintained an Oak Savanna (grassland) habitat which is good for wildflowers, insects, birds, critters, and Bengals.
I don't think that is a nest, but it has been up there for a long time. The Oak grove is full of woodpeckers, and many other species of birds.
