With the successful snow experience,
we figured it might be time to try
ice cubes as toys with the boys.

It is just laying there,...Ice cubes were not a big hit with the boys.
Try putting one in their water dish to bob around... That's Dax's favorite! The game appears to be to pull it out of the water... and then the game is over, I guess :p
