Father's day is a secular holiday celebrated around the world on various days throughout the year. In many countries it is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. There are several possible origins of the celebration; from a 1908 service in a United Methodist church organized by Grace Golden Clayton, commemorating the deaths of 361 men in the West Virginia Monongah coal mine explosion, to the 1909 event inspired by mother’s day, organized by Sonora Smart Dodd, in Spokane Washington, in celebration of her father who had raised her after the death of her mother. In 1956 a Joint Resolution of Congress recognized Father’s Day and in 1966 President Lyndon B. Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father’s Day. In 1972, President Richard M. Nixon signed the law, officially recognizing Father’s Day as a national holiday in the United States.
In honor of father's day, we are posting
photos of the boys from "pre-blog" days.
These photos are from May 10, 2006.
The boys were just over three months old.

Awww! What could be cuter than puffy-tailed kittens playing. Tanji and Uschi sure were adorable babies. Happy Father's Day!
That is so cute! I love how they fall asleep at the end of the day! Looks like they got really tired out, hehe!
