Anniversary Eucalyptus

Today Les and I celebrated our 16th anniversary
and winter solstice,... somehow it just seems right to
celebrate on the darkest day of the year, >;-)

We spent some time out with the boys and
collected eucalyptus cuttings to enjoy inside...

Vladi was first on the scene and gave a deep sniff...

this smells familiar.

He may look like a little mischief-maker, but just
like his big brothers, Vladi is a good boy and just sniffs.
Most species of eucalyptus can be toxic,
so its not for nibbling.

Uschi joins Vladi on the table...

and little Ferdinand starts sniffing too.

These two boys are getting more alike every day!

Uschi's ears are back: somethings up...

Uh-oh, here comes Tani...

What's this???

Tanji starts sniffing too.

It looks like Tanji wants to lick the leaves,
but instead...

He licks his Vladi for a while.

We put our gifts on the table,
Tanji gives them a good sniff too.
(Note the sophisticated gift wrapping >;-)

Let's get these open!!

What did we get boys?

Two-way radios to keep track of our little
kitten "herd" on our daily walks.

Yes Tanj, our first radio transmission
will probably have something
to do with corralling you!

Happy winter solstice!

Leftovers

I've been holding onto a folder of images
"leftover" from our Thanksgiving dragonfly outing.

Tanji was excited

T and V

watch the dragonfly.

Vladi grabs,... and

reaches for it,... but

gets Tanji.

Back on the ground,...

The big brothers focus.

Tanji gets airborne

Uschi focuses and

takes off.

Get back here.

Its your turn Vladi,...

Leap

Tanji stretches out,...

I will get you,...

Lunge.

Okay boys that's enough for now,...

Come-on Mooommm !!
Make it go more !

Outside Wrestling

Vladi was chasing Uschi

Uschi was having a ball chasing him back,
before heading off on his own adventure.

Vladi watched

Tanji approaching at high speed.

Vladi jumped into the tall grass, and

Tanji cruised along in high speed stalk mode.

T pounced on V

V-man got his feet up

and kicked.

Whaaat ?

Grrrrr

T tried to escape, but

Vladi lunged after him,

and made the tackle.

The brothers rolled around in the tall grass,
before

Tanji made his get-away.

Sprinkler

Just before Vladi came home we noticed that the

dry brown "grass" was very sharp.

So we watered a small patch for a week or so,
such that there would be a soft place for the
V-man to learn about the outdoors.

Tanji ran right past the sprinkler,
keeping his distance.

The sound of running water brought

Uschi running,

What is that ?

Hmmm ?

Interesting,...

I need a closer look.

careful Usch,...

This is neat,...

It doesn't smell strange,...

pat, pat, pat.

Uschi started to get "rained" on,... so

he was off.
