The boys like to sleep on and play on the bed. I think the bed attracts their attention because it is pretty high (~3ft off the floor), it is located in a windowed peninsula (surrounded on three sides by windows), it is open to the house on the fourth side, and most importantly it is soft. This might give them a feeling of being able to survey their domain in total comfort.
