Every day out with the boys is like a wildlife safari.

Tanji (top left) is watching the doe from his old kennel perch.

After a bit, T takes off for other adventures.

Next Uschi saunters towards the deer...

...and settles in a chair to watch her eat.

Spotted Friends

Tanjiro received a visit from our deer family.

T watched intently,

To the family as they strolled past.

Alert spotted fawns.

Have floppy ears, too.

Mooooommmmm.

Well come on then,...

Here I come.

Time to head down the trail, but first

Visiting Friends

"Our" doe is back, maybe the same one from previous years

who has had fawns in our "yard."

But now she is busy eating fruit trees, and

Enjoying the mowed trails.

The humming birds are back too.
But Tanji isn't too interested in hummingbirds.

this is our first sighting.

Making Friends

We woke this morning to two deer directly
outside the "bedroom" windows.

All of the boys were still sleeping,... good watch cats.

With our waking, Vladi got up, and

Checked out the visitors.

Soon everyone moved around to the kennel.

Hey little dude, what are you doing down there?

Vladi was super brave,...

Nose to nose with the visitors.
(He put his paw up only once, but didn't swat)

Tanji came inside to let us know we had visitors,
then headed back outside, to

guard the door.

Tanji what are you doing over there?

Deer Watchers

Tanji and Vladi have new friends.

When Tanji and Uschi were little kittens, they occasionally saw deer from the kennel, and they were pretty scared. Luckily the deer rarely appeared on our walks. Now, a few years later, deer have moved back into our "yard" and we see them on our walks. Uschi pretty much ignores them (or doesn't see them), Tanji usually gets quite alarmed and runs home, and if we are not careful, Vladi takes off jogging after the deer (he is always looking for new friends). This morning I looked out the window, and the deer were right outside the kennel...

Vladi is yelling all about the visitors,
but his voice is so quiet, we can barely hear him.

"Are you my friend?"

Tani slunk up on his perch to watch the deer eat,
this is a brave move, Tanji is always ready to defend us.

While Tani watches carefully,
Vladi is running around all excited.
