Where a well alerted Black-capped Chickadee yells
"Chick-A-dee, dee, dee, dee!"
(the more "dees" the more of a threat
the bird is announcing for all to hear, 1-5 "dees")
Tanj launches into the tree,
but the chickadee
doesn't even fly away.
The birds are in little danger.

Tanji soon gets tangled in the branches,
tires of the climb,
and jumps down.
Only to chatter over his shoulder
at the birdie in the tree.

Wow, lucky! I love to bird watch but I never get close to seeing one up close.

Thanks for the info on the chicka-dee-dee-dee-dee's! The Woman grew up in ME and they are the state bird and she never knew that!
Yes, the boys are pretty spoiled, with many "Adventure" opportunities.
I grew up in Upstate NY,... Chickadees have always been a part of my life, I'm so glad we have them in OR.
Oh Tanji, what a great hunter you are. I think yelling at the birds helps a lot, too!
Dang! Did you miss the birdy? You guys look wild being outside! Very handsome!
