Uschi is excited to try out his new super-size scratching box.
The scratcher came with a big bag of catnip. Tanji wants some.
Uschi does too.
I sprinkle catnip on the box, and Tanji takes over.
Scratch, scratch, scratch.
U tries to swat T away, but he is too much of a pussycat...
So he retreats to his sandy spot on the carpet (don't ask).
While I was watching Usch, someone spilled the catnip bag.
This much catnip can cause craziness.
Vladi is already drooling.
Scratch, scratch, scratch.
So Vladi is on the new scratching box, Tanji is on the cover,
and its not looking good for Uschi.
Until Usch got the idea of rolling in the catnip, and with a roar...
...he reclaims his new toy. Scratch, scratch, scratch.
Anybody want a piece of this? Anybody?

Oh, no! A WHOLE bag of catnip? I shudder to think of the ensuing mayhem not caught on camera. And as for the sand, why, oh, why can't we ask? You're piquing our curiosity, then leaving us hanging.
Well, the sandy beach that is building in my living room area is from Vladi's attempts to sculpt a volcano every time he uses the litter box. Unfortunately Uschi thinks this is just enough litter to justify squatting on the carpet. So every morning now its a mad dash to reduce the level of litter on the carpet before Uschi gets ideas. I've tried a higher box, but (and this is sad), these super-athletic Bengal cats had trouble getting in and out of it. Ahh, the joy of cats :).
litter box trouble: maybe you should try to build 1-2 steps in- & outside the higher box? kind of intermediary level to get the athletes warmed up? ;)
or maybe cut just one entry passage spot a little bit lower, like a "half cat door" on one side of the box?
btw: evidence pictures of the volcano building V-man would be highly appreciated! ;))
