Tomato Garden

It was too hot to go out yesterday, so we had to settle for sitting
on the "porch" and admiring the kennel's tomato garden.

A small breeze is blowing thru and ruffling Uschi's belly fur.

The heirloom tomatoes are a pleasant surprise;
a potluck of shapes, colors, and flavors.

We have a LOT of these little purple beauties coming in.

The wet pots attract plenty of wildlife.

The mantis can symbolize the hunt for meaning in life,
something easier to do while smelling warm tomato leaves
and listening to rustling leaves.

Nesting

On warm summer afternoons, Uschi has the right idea,
he nests right through all the sweltering silliness.

The sound of the camera woke him up, but after a brief sleepy pose...

...he collapses back into his cozy cat cup.

Beach Towel

Vladi's little dagger-nails can penetrate right through our throw blankets
when he is kneading them with us underneath, so we now have a
protective beach towel layer (also clearance Vera Bradley).

For some reason beach towel = cleaning station to V-man.

He'd much rather someone else licked him, there is fine glittery
fur flying everywhere.

Would you like to lick me?

How about you?

Here comes a sucker-fish, I mean Tanji.

T can't resist cleaning the dirty baby-cat.
(V is "helping" by sticking out his tongue)

Stormy Summer Skies

Usually our valley summer skies are clear and dry,
but we have had a few days of clouds, even sprinkles.

The boys love the smells after a bit of moisture,
but have no idea how to handle muggy humid conditions.

So as they were happily home scarfing down wet Fancy Feast,
we were treated to a glorious sunset, an August oddity.

Every minute the colors change as the sun sets behind the coastal range.

A cotton candy ceiling on a robin's egg sky.

Tanji Visits Too

This is Vladi's new blankie, and Tanji has waited until
V is in the kennel before checking it out.

Tanji looks a bit unsure about how to proceed.

T tiptoes tentatively across the edge of the blanket.

I need petties!

Oh yea, that's the good stuff!

More loving, please.

Tanji is settling down, but still keeping an eye out for Vladi.

Nestled between his parents, he is a happy boy.

 Slowly kneading himself to sleep.

Oh no, its time to give Vladi back his blankie.

Scrunchy Soft

We've been a bit behind on blogs... its been a fun and busy summer
with lots of adventures, and when things settle down, we'll
get back to regular postings of the boys in action...

One new sunshiny addition is a Vera Bradley throw blanket.

Unbelievably soft, this is bound to be a hit.

Vladi arrives right away: pat, pat, pat.

Did you guys feel this, its awesome!

Oh, I'm starting to feel kind of funny...

Knead, knead, knead.

Oh, this is the good stuff.

Vladi looks a little pissed the blankie isn't petting back.

This can go on for almost an hour at a time, its quite tiring.

And mesmerizing for all of us.

Spots

Tanji has always been a glitterball boy,

and is often quicker than the ISO of our
dSLR (inside light levels).

I just liked the blur of this one.

Uoo-ster-er

Uschi is amazingly "talkative."
He "talks" and "talks" and HOWLS!!!

As the sun comes up he starts,
we hear him on his wheel amping up.

We call it Uoo-stering (rooster-ing) with day break.

Eventually, we can't take it any longer scoop him up,
which he loves, but typically hides, because
this action means we are tossing him into his
kennel, so he can Uooo-ster outside, which he does.

Ummmm, guys?

I seem to be locked out,... ?

Eventually, everyone else wakes up,
typically from his pounding on the door,
and he rejoins the family.

Then he goes to sleep.

The light is in my eyes.

That is better, on a pile of clean towels,...

I'm trying to sleep here,...

Tomato Inspector

We have been leaving the "human" door open,
The boys love it.

Uschi enjoys the open door.

What nice swirls.
