Spring Festivities

We were out looking for sweets to enjoy during
the Olympic Closing Ceremonies, as well as
the season finale of Downton Abbey, and
found a large decorated cookie.

Perfectly it had a festive greeting,...

Happy Birthday, Mandy

The boys didn't show much interest in the cookie,
so they headed outside to explore their greening yard.

Vladi what are you doing?

Oh hiii, Happy Birthday.

Tanjiiii do you have anything to say?

WHAT? ... I'm busy.

I brought you a gift!
(very thoughtful Uschi)

Kissieee (??)

Nope!

The boys had a great day out,
we hope you have a wonderful day too.

Catnip Capers

Uschi seems a bit bemused by the catnip treat that magically
appeared on V-day.

Speaking of V, Vladi wants a bite.

Tanji is here too, and Uschi is totally peeved.

Turns out, this is definitely not enough catnip for three Bengal boys.

Good Boy

Vladi can usually be counted on to follow directions,
but this may be taking it a bit too far.

Happy Olympics!

One of our traditions is that as soon as the opening
ceremonies end, we head out to put up our Olympic flag.

There's a bit too much snow outside for our usual opening ceremonies,
so the boys are doing their biathlon and curling events indoors tonight.

This year we trudged through the snow, with no Bengals.
(I have already shoveled the trail once)

We ducked through the heavily laden trees,

Veronica confirmed that we have received ~18" of snow already.
(More snow and ice scheduled for Saturday)

Our Olympic flag proudly displayed for the next two weeks.

Blizzard

Its still snowing, and with over a foot of snow, the schools are all
closed, but of course we went in anyway (very carefully).

We got home early enough to clear a spot for the boys to explore.

It better not still be snowing...

Uschi is committed to only walking in snow that's paw-deep.

Another kitten is making these deep prints.  Its...

Vladi the explorer!

Vladi can barely keep his head above the snow.

So V is mainly keeping on the trail dug to the bird feeders.

Good job, Vladi!

Tanji is trying to get into the kennel, its locked on both sides
to protect the birds huddled under the eaves for warmth.

Uh guys, this is pretty deep!

With quite a bit of coaxing, Tanji tries the trail,
but his heart just isn't into it.

Can I go home, please?

Uschi is huddled on the only dry patch,
its time to get inside and warm up!

Snow Day

We all woke up this morning to a bit of powder on the ground.

By 8 a.m. the snow was coming down steadily and we already
had two inches on the ground with no end in sight.

Woo-Hoo, Snow Day, four-day weekend!

We headed to school to take care of the rats and a bit of business,
shopped for lots of treats, and headed home to take the boys out.

By 10:30 a.m. we have about six inches on the ground, and its still
snowing!  We can go years without snow in the valley, and this is our
second storm this winter.  We're so sure the boys will stay close to
home that we let them investigate without their leash harnesses.

These are not happy faces.

This better not be snow...

Vladi wants to run around and piddle on trees,
but the snow is deep and still coming down pretty hard.

Get it off me, Get it off me!

Uschi isn't a big fan of snow anymore either.

Paw-deep is about as much as he wants to handle.

So Usch improvises and runs back and forth under the eaves.

Even Tanji can't be coaxed to take a walk with his Meow.
We're all back inside, warm and cozy, enjoying the day.

Birthday Sweets

We're celebrating T and U's birthday week with plenty of sweets.

The neon sprinkles on this one may be a bit over the top
for our stick-in-the-mud Bengals.

Taanjiiii, how about some neon sprinkles?

Tanji is passing up on the pastel sprinkles too.

Sweet-toothed V showed a bit too much interest.

Maybe Uschi would like a taste.

Oooohhhh pretty, just like meeeeeeeee.
