Fall Tree Trimming

Right before my bike accident last fall, we did a "little" tree trimming, removing some of the ash trees that struggle to grow in our soil. Les found some photos of the clean-up...

It was a warm day and Tanji lounged in the window
to the kennel, when something got his attention...

Vladi hears something too, and perches on the window.

Off in the distance, I'm dragging trees towards
the compost pile.

The ash trees never grew well.

The spotted boys are perching for a better view.

"Did you see that?"

T and V are bouncing off all of the posts,
and running between the kennel and the house.

Tanji is meowing for attention...

A blade of grass is an instant toy...

Grrrrrr.

Vladi watches the T-craziness from a safe distance.

Uschi Heads Home

Uschi is posing on the picnic bench,
getting ready to go home after a long walk.

A quick lick of soaking wet paws...

And a stroll to the door with his Dad.

Uschi slinks home for a good bath and dinner.

More Dragonfly, Please

The whole family heads home after a walk. Tanji is already back inside, he sometimes does his rounds and decides he's done for the day (after an hour or so of exploring). We're using the dragonfly to lure Uschi and Vladi home...

Vladi will go anywhere his dragonfly goes.

"Fork it over, Dad."

Uschi is right there too,

"Nooo,... It's mine!"

The boys are tired and a bit grouchy,
Uschi is hissing and growling, but no one believes it.

Tanji is watching from his kennel perch.

Here you go, Tanji.

Vladi watches intently, and since he has to
share his dragonfly with two brothers,
he decides to turn up the intensity,...

He climbs on the roof to pounce on his prey.

That's probably not a good idea,
its time for the dragonfly to go home.

Dragonfly Saves the Day

We have been having our usual winter weather, mild temperature (40-50 degrees F), and day after day of rain with a few short peaks of sky between the clouds. When there is a break to go out for a walk, the boys need to burn off a lot of energy. Their dragonfly toy ensures that the action never stops...

Vladi takes off after the dragonfly. He knows its his toy,
it came with him from Cheetahsden and is still his favorite.

Woo-Hoo!

Spring!

Vladi's tail is wagging like an excited puppy.

Uschi wants to play too...

Go Uschi Go!

Vladi is not quite ready to give up his toy...

MINE!

Meanwhile, Tanji (our most wound-up little spring)
has been excitedly climbing nearby trees,
waiting for his turn to play...

Here he comes!
(Uschi is in the background holding up that birch)

Spring!

Tanji is too fast for the camera,
this little spring is bouncy.

Boing, Boing, Boing.

But Vladi is never far away from his dragonfly...

Out of the way, I'm V-man!

Pond Panther

Who is that panther, slinking by the pond?

It's Tanji!

Head down, tail up, Tanji is hunting...

A drink of fresh water.

Now he looks more like a pointer than a panther.

Scaling the Shed

Vladi dreams of getting on top of the shed
(our version of a garage and training facility :)

A leap onto a garbage can gets Vladi a bit higher.

Its a nice view over the compost drum to the distant hills,

but its still too far to the roof, so Vladi...

... springs away to his next adventure.
