Plush Sleeping Arrangements

Ever since we rearranged the furniture

Uschi has taken up a new sleeping place.
His position has evolved since he first took over this spot.

He drapes over the back of the couch.

He seems relaxed (in the center of all activity).

He even has a pillow for his tail.

That is a lot of plushness,...

Lesley is a migraine suffer,...

You read about those dogs and cats that
can smell cancers, and other diseases,...

Well, Tanji keeps a very close eye on Lesley,...
He herds her to bed, and when she gets up
in the middle of the night he goes right along with her.

Recently we noticed that when Tanji is more agitated,
sniffs her head as she sleeps, meows at her while
she is sleeping, and sleeps by her head,...
she tends to have migraine symptoms the next day.

We are choosing to believe he is sensing something
and not causing it with his actions,... >;-)

He has a good bedside manner,...

Lesley can not make a move with out Tanji knowing it,...
he only appears to be sleeping,...
Any motion and he is up and ready for action.

Cold Spot

Last week we had a few sunny and cold days.
This led to a rare sight: Tanji sleeping in the sun.

Full sun on the face to warm his cold nose and ears,
chilled from watching things from his kennel perch.

A little sun on toes that were pawing through the wet grass.

Tanji heard the camera and is offering belly access...

Uschi's Winter Garden

It may be slushy and cold outside, but
Uschi is happy and warm in his Vera Bradley garden:
quilted purse, tennis bag, and placemat.

Some of Uschi's fur may travel with Les to work,
but no one can refuse Mr. Plush his Bradleys.

Christmas Kitten

We're celebrating and will have lots of photos tomorrow,
for now a super warm Merry Christmas from all of us!

Here is a little Christmas story...

The first few days Vladi came to live with us, back in September of 2007, he slept in the bathroom with Les, so he would be apart from his big brothers until everyone settled down. We didn't want him to be completely in the dark because all of the new noises could be a little scary. So we put up a Christmas bubbling night light to keep Vladi company.

Vladi chattered at his new friend...

...and stuck out his tongue (something he still does when happy).

Someone looks a little tired...

Its bedtime, so Les turns down the lights.

For a while Vladi is mesmerized by the bubbles.

As he settles in, Les turns the rest of the lights out,
except the bubbling night light.

Vladi wakes for a moment...

And then lays back down in the glow of his Christmas light.

Bed Piggy

No matter where Tanji is, when Lesley gets into bed
(no matter what time of day or if he is comfortably sleeping),
he comes running and jumps into bed too.
