Vladi's Feather Dance

Vladi loves "his" red feathers.

He gets a hold of them and doesn't let go,..

Are those for meeee ?!?

V digs in,

a few steps back,

then a few to his left,

then a few to his right.

However much

he pulls,

he can't get the feathers free.

He really wants the feathers,...

Reverse again,

A few steps right,...

then back to the left.

Vladi Is On Top Of The World

Vladi likes to sleep in the sun,
whereas T&U prefer the shade.

Watching the world pass by outside.

Whaaaat ? I like the sun,

and this pillow is comfy.

Fresh Cat Nip

The boys got a special treat from a friend,

a big bag of fresh cat nip.

Uschi dives into the bag,...

Tanji quickly joins to see what is so exciting.

Uschi's eyes tell it all.

mmmm,.....

Happy Autumnal Equinox

Happy Fall Equinox. Today at 9:51am GMT the earth was oriented, due to its tilt on its axis, in such a way that the sun appears directly over the equator. This orientation occurs on two days each year, resulting in an equal length day and night everywhere on earth. These days are known as the fall (autumnal, September, southward, Virgo, or first point of Libra) equinoxes (equal, night) and spring (vernal, March, northward, Pisces, or first point of Aries).

In the northern hemisphere we celebrate the September equinox as the first day of Fall and typically, experiencing shortening days, cooler temperatures, the southward migration of birds is well underway, and deciduous trees lose their leaves.

"fall foliage"

The sunflower patch is dying back.
(the birds have eaten all the seeds)

The boys went for their evening walk.

Tanji and Uschi set out on their own paths

Tanji likes to run and stalk the trails
(Lesley goes with him)

Uschi's a blur, on a crisp fall day
preferring to sit and watch vermin holes.

For Vladimir, it is all new, so he spends

some time running, and

watching.

Of course plenty of time showing off how

handsome he is.

I'm Cute !!!

I like to stare at the sun.

What is going on over there ?

Hiiiiiii !!

Tanji ! ? !

The sun is going down over the Coastal Mountains.

It is time to head back inside.

Uschi Moves Out

This is my new room.

Uschi thinks he needs his own room(s). He has recently taken up residence in the entry hallway, staking it out as his own personal room. His wheel is right inside the house from the entry so it is a short commute to his gym, and recently he had an axillary litter-box in the entry hall and has even had food and water delivered to him in the hallway. His special perks are starting to be taken away as Vladimir has become accepted as part of the Bengal pack. So, the other day when I put our tent up in the yard to dry out after an overnighter in the high desert, Uschi thought this was his opportunity for his own house. He was walking around on top of the overturned preformed pond when the tent caught his eyes,...

He lept, and ran to the tent.

What is this ?

This looks good,...

U kept circling the tent,...

looking for a way in,...

Helloooo !?

It smells good in there,...

I see blankets to curl up in.

Tanji cruised by but Uschi fended him off.

I took out all of the blankets and

Uschi explored the potential new space.

Eventually, he decided it wasn't comfy
enough to meet his expectations, so he looked for
another adventure, and

bounded into the tall grass.

Vet Toy

Is this for me?

Our vet let us choose a kitten toy for Vladi. We tried to let him choose one for himself from the basket, but he sniffed several and didn't seemed to have a favorite. We picked a "Pet Stages" toy we didn't have, because Tanj and Usch seemed to like their "Chilly Kitty" and "Dental Health" chews when they were teething, and the "Plush Butterfly" and "Kitty Treat Pocket" when they were older (Oh yes, they are a bit spoiled!). We still have those in good shape, so we picked the "Catnip Chew Ring." Of course when we brought it home, the whole family had to give it a try...

Oh, this smells yummy!

Mr. Catnip can't resist a nibble.

Wait a minute, this is supposed to be for me!
