Christmas Fun Part #2

I think this is for me.

We opened some presents this morning, but we like to spread out
the gifts to enjoy them all day long. After a great meal and
a walk outside (those photos will be up tomorrow),
we had more goodies to enjoy with the boys...

Vladi is ready with a big smile of anticipation.

Its a bag of new toys!!

Pink feathers for Uschi and lots of other goodies too.

Does Tanji look better with green? Or...

purple? He's handsome with anything.

We got more goodies too. A kitty runner...

and some towels that Uschi will snuggle up with.

The presents came wrapped with ribbons.
Usually we do not let the boys play with ribbons/string,
but we figured a little monitored play was O.K. today.

Can I really play with this?

Vladi looks unsure too, so we let him know its O.K.to play.

What kind of parents would drape ribbons on their kitten?

Uschi doesn't need encouragement, he's in a playful mood.

Now we have paper and tissue spread out all over the floor.

Vladi knows what to do, scoot underneath and...

walk around dragging paper behind him.

Its been a big day, and the boys are getting tired.
They are licking each other and moving slowly.

Uschi falls asleep first, next to me on the couch.

Tanji is next, curled up next to Les on the couch.

But what about Vladi?

Vladi is hunting for mice in the bathroom,
hoping to get one more Christmas present.

Christmas Fun Part #1

On Christmas Eve we cleaned the house and set up the tree.
We had to move things off the floor to vacuum,
including Uschi's scratching post...

Uschi defended his post from any interlopers.

Happy Uschi!

Tanji found something interesting under the tree...

So did Uschi.

I made Christmas Eve dinner

Les likes little things like; the smallest fork, spoon, cups, etc.
so when I make pancakes, she gets a special plate of little cakes.

Tanji was a lucky spot and got a mini pancake with butter & syrup.
We walked outside and enjoyed the drizzle and holiday lights,
and watched Christmas movies until it was bedtime.

Christmas morning we gave the boys breakfast
and headed into school to feed the fish
and water the greenhouses (a Christmas tradition).

When we got home,

the boys were pacing around,
ready to open presents.

Let 'er rip!

Les' Mom sent a little wind-up dog,
that makes yipping noises,
she loved when she was little.

We thought Tanji would run away,
as he is scared of the motorized pom pom toy,
but he is interested, very interested.

Actually all three boys thought this was great.

Feeling kind of nervous for the toy at this point.

Vladi kept patting it, trying to get it to play with him.

Les and I got goodies too, but the boys knew
they were all really presents for them...

What did we get Tanji?

Oh boy, ribbon!

Very helpful!

Vladi is busy kneading his new "bed" of tissue.

I got a gift card, which will probably go to
building something related to the boys >:-)

And pasta tongs that are good for playing,

and messing with Vladi.

Les and Uschi show off their new sweater.

And I'm trying on my new bike clothes.

All this excitement is wearing us boys out,
so all kinds of goofiness starts to happen...

Vladi gets his head stuck in a paper bag...

and also in wrapping paper.

T & U start a wrestling match...

and Vladi retreats to a safe spot to sleep.

This is all before noon, we still have Christmas dinner,
our walk with the boys (we have a surprise in store for them),
and more presents to open!

More to Come...

(subtitle: Tanji's Dream Come True)

Tanji, Uschi, and Vladi were up early and excited
(how do they know??)
Now they are busy unwrapping their presents,
and we'll post photos later today.

In the meantime we are thinking of all of our family and friends,
including the boys' Aunt Kelli, and all of their brothers and sister,
and hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve 08

Where are my presents?

It's Christmas Eve and we dusted off the little Christmas tree
(that we leave up all year) and plugged in the Christmas lights.

The boys got all excited. Christmas is coming!

Uschi and Vladi nuzzle each other under the tree...

Tanji is mesmerized by all of the bright "toys."

T is thinking of being a bit bad, so he
gives himself a time out in the cat cup...

Good boy, Tanjimo!

Uschi is still looking for the presents...

Maybe they are underneath?

It's a tight fit for little V...

No presents under here!

Usch checks out Les' Christmas barrette.
Is that my present?

Mmmm, maybe not.

Its getting late and its time to turn on
the night lights and wait for Santa.
