Giant Fancy Feast

We took a shopping trip to our new Grocery Outlet store

(affectionately nicknamed the "dented can food store")

and found GIANT bags of dry Fancy Feast for about

the same price as bags half their size at our regular store.

We try to have a variety of dry foods, but this is the treat.

 

All three boys postured around the bag, staking their claim.

Open the bag, open the bag, c'mon open the bag, open the bag,

open the bag, I don't have thumbs, open this bag already!

Good for Shade

Now that the days are sunny, our primary role on the walks

has shifted to "shade umbrella."

Of course Uschi has his prefered shade provider.

Growth and Regrowth

Its a time of change and growth,

so of course it's also time for a new haircut.

(Done at home, we're saving our pennies).

It's shorter than Uschi's belly fur!

Yep that's scalp showing, yikes!

The plan is to see how much it can grow in one year,

 and hopefully growth and regrowth will go hand in hand.

The gorgeous ring is a talisman, from the very talented

Kristi of Silver Sparrow Designs.

A sublime chrysocolla snuggled in the perfect setting.

 

On the "Uschi color scale" somewhere between the

color of his harness and his glowing eyes.

 

On the back "strength & balance" are engraved,

perfect thoughts for the good and better times ahead.

Vladi may look like he is waiting patiently for attention...

...but he is getting a bit tired of waiting for his petties.

Magic Carpet

Uschi riding his magic carpet.

"Somebody" decorated the hall carpet so it is outside

drying after getting hosed off.

Anything comfortable outside instantly belongs to Uschi.

The perfect place to itch...

Play with daisies...

Advanced Kneading

Vladi is taking the sport of kneading to a whole new level, kneading

the couch with his back paws and ottoman with his front paws.

He's chirping too, trying to get Uschi's attention (in the background),

but Uschi knows kneading can lead to hugging,

and he doesn't want anything to do with that.

Vladi and the Ducks

Even though we woke up still feeling pretty icky today,

it was a gorgeous cool and sunny Saturday morning,

so we took the boys out.

There was a lot of sitting in small, shady, spots...

 Eeeeewwwwwwweee...

 Bbbbhhhhlllllaaahhhhh...

Of course we still were camera-ready for action.

 

Vladi was sprinkling his way across the lupine patch,

heading for the duck pond, which just happens to

be occupied in the early morning hours...

What the heck is over there?

Vladi may not have seen the ducks before, but

we have been admiring this pair for weeks.

After a good long stare, Vladi decides that

these ducks DEFINITELY want to be his friends.

 Hello!

Splash.  The male is off the dock and into the water.

Not a good start.

Did you guys see that?  Awesome!

I better get closer so they can play with me...

Vladi is the eternal optimist.

That is close enough for the female, she's on the way in too...

Under the Weather

After a whirlwind few months, things are settling down,

so of course we have gotten sick :). 

Mommie-T is watching over us carefully...

Veggie-bean soup is on the burner...

Our M&M cookie supply is replenished...

 ...and Uschi is burning off his frustrations

over limited "Dad time" on the cat wheel.

Don't worry Vladi, its going to be a beautiful weekend

and we'll be back walking and playing outside soon.

Lets' Go For a Walk!

 Tanji is our watch dog, our perimeter guard, and proximity alert.

He typically likes to do a quick lap around the property

to make sure everything is in order.  But occasionally he

decides to take one of us for a walk instead...

Tanji heads down the trail, and if we don't catch up...

 T comes right back to pick up his stray parent.

Let's go, there's things to do!

 

Grass to eat...

Flowers to admire...

and inchworms to sniff.

 

Walks are always more fun with a friend.

The sun is getting low in the sky, its almost time to go home.

Uschi and Vladi are already settled inside. 

The leash is the signal that its time for dinner.

At first Tanji jumps into a "safety chair" and pouts a bit.

 But he's a good boy and hungry too, so we head home.
