Sure she's pretty, but we'd rather
not have her as a house guest.
The other morning I was out biking and Les woke to hear a knocking on the cat door. Tanj was out in the kennel butting his head repeatedly against the door for some reason. After making sure the cat flap was unlocked, Les opened the people door to find Tanj standing on the doorstep with a
garter snake in his mouth. He was trying to figure out how to get the snake through the cat door and into the house. A little gift for the parents. Thanks Tanji,...
As I was walking into the house, Les and the snake were coming out. The snake was cold and not moving, but appeared to be O.K. Les released the snake in a patch of lupines. After it warmed up, it slithered away. Well, at least Tanji is not hurting his "prey"
as much as he used to, but we are expecting more exciting surprises in the future.
Tanj prances proudly by
as Les collects her "gift"
Uschi wants to see what all
of the excitement is about.
We check the snake, and there
are only small Tanj tooth marks.
