First Kennel Adventure

Where did Tanji and Uschi go?

With Tanj and Usch, every "first" they had when they came home was a big deal to us: first wrestling match, first nap, first purr, first water snake, and the list goes on... We want to be sure that we are equally attentive to all of Vladi's firsts, and for T&U one of their biggest days was going out into their kennel for the first time. Vladi has definitely noticed that his big brothers have been escaping him through the cat door, and he has seen the kennel through the window, but it is a big deal to push the flap and enter a new world (especially since Tanj has been sitting on the opposite side holding it closed with his paw).

When T&U first went out to the kennel (at the exact same age), it took coaxing with a feather wand, and a lot of reassurance as they slowly made it to the first turn in the kennel, and they had each other and both of us for support. We prepared to help Vladi adjust slowly to his new kennel "room," but he surprised us as usual,

We started by pushing the flap open with a feather wand,
and what a surprise, Tanj is waiting outside...

"What's the secret password?"

Tanj gives a sniff...

A look back at his Dad...

and Vladi crawls through starting the adventure.

A first glance at his new world.

Tanj is close by, he's acting like
a real big brother today.

Uschi has been watching too...

and moves to sit in the cat door, blocking Vladi's return.
"WoooHooo, he's outta here!"

Uschi still laying in the door way as Vladi meows.

Tanji tries to get Uschi to join the fun.

Usch still has a few good hisses in him for both brothers.

He may look a little tense, but
Vladi does not hesitate to explore...

"Oh boy, a giant litterbox!"

Shared "tailitude"

Striking similar poses as a bird flies by.

All three boys are close together...

Vladi is getting very excited and starts broncoing...
(all four paws are off the ground!)

This gets Tanj excited,
he begins jumping and climbing around...

Let's play!

A little taunting in the shade...

turns into a gentle wrestle.
(at least on Tanj's end!)

A big scary giant in cycling gear appears...

and of course Vladi is not afraid,

and continues ripping around...

Uschi is even excited.

Is Uschi warming up to Vladi??

There Vladi goes again, racing around the corner...

Zooooooooommmmmmm...

Tanj watches from the safety of a perch.

Calmer now, Vladi continues to explore...

Oh boy, a hole to stand in!!

Almost an hour has passed and its nap-time...

Vladi wants to stay outside, but we
want him to eat, drink, and rest, so we
push open the cat flap for him and what do we find...

Tanj is waiting to welcome Vladi back inside.
